Our Mission
Black Wildflowers Fund exists to remove systemic barriers and empower Black educators who want to pursue leadership pathways and design innovative schools— without compromising their freedom, power, identity, or financial security.
Through this campaign, we will raise $150,000 to fund 25 Montessori credential grants for Black educators in 2025—an increase of 47% from last year! With these grants, we will empower more leaders to establish transformative, identity-affirming spaces for Black children and adults to thrive.
Why It Matters
Black educators face unique financial and professional barriers when starting and leading their own schools. The Black Wildflowers Fund helps by:
-
Ensure Black educators don’t incur additional debt to pursue Montessori credentials & training.
-
Reduce the risks associated with designing and launching innovative schools.
-
Foster leadership through a community of practice to ensure grantees craft meaningful leadership career pathways in education.
